Shannon is a 17-year-old high school senior who plays basketball, reads, spends time with her friends, and watches TV. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last May. The hospital where she was diagnosed put her in contact with the B+ Foundation. To Shannon, the B+ Foundation has been a great way to meet other kids and families who are going through similar experiences. She enjoys participating in B+ Positive’s fun activities with the Northwestern students with her cousin Michelle.
Shannon wanted to tell all of the dancers, “Thank you for supporting the B+ Foundation and cancer research. Even a little bit of funding and support can go a really long way in helping patients be more comfortable! I'm so excited to join you all at Dance Marathon this year.” Her favorite song lately is “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson but she also likes Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift. She doesn’t have any favorite dance moves, but hopes that she can learn a few more at Dance Marathon.
Please keep Shannon and all of our incredible heroes in mind in the last few weeks before Dance Marathon. Every dollar contributed will make such a big difference and the 30 hours that you invest will change the lives of many for years to come. Thank you! Be positive and get excited!
