Top Chef is a cooking competition inspired by the show on Bravo. Fifteen to twenty teams go head to head to cook a meal for 3 judges. Each team has 30 minutes to cook a meal that highlights a secret ingredient that we reveal the week of the event. Each team has access to pantry items that include ingredients such as salt, pepper, eggs, flour, and spice. They get a limited set of cooking utensils that includes a pot, a sauté pan, a knife, and a cutting board. The meals are judged on the overall dish, taste, plating, and use of the secret ingredient. The top three teams with the highest score win money for the NUDM teams. Northwestern students as well as families from GiGi’s Playhouse will be attending the event. Teams and individuals can also choose to participate in Cupcake wars!
